Southeast District Health Department is seeking a detail-oriented, self-motivated individual with experience working with and/or providing services to children and families, and who enjoys making a difference in the lives of others.
This employee will provide home visitation services to prenatal clients and families with infants or young children, and will provide youth leadership to students at Auburn and Johnson-Brock Middle/High Schools. This position offers a flexible and independent work environment at 30 hours per week. This is an entry level position.
Typical duties include:
Providing education and referrals to parents on a wide spectrum of child development, parenting and mental health issues;
Support and reinforce health and basic care teaching;
Provide referrals and assist with linking families to necessary resources to ensure all needs are met;
Represent the agency and programs in a positive manner to clients, community organizations, and the public in general;
Establish positive, supportive and reciprocal relationships with families and children;
Organize/sustain active youth leadership group with middle and high school students;
Develop, coordinate, and implement prevention education programming consistent with action plan;
Participate in and report to local Community Health Partnership coalition
Maintain accurate, timely documentation
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Must have high school diploma or equivalent
Associate’s degree in early childhood education or human services preferred (or 3 years equivalent experience)
Must have reliable transportation, cell phone and valid Driver’s License.
Must have ability to pass a criminal background check.
