Southeast District Health Department is seeking an experienced public health professional to serve as the Director of Public Health over the counties of Johnson, Nemaha, Pawnee, Otoe, and Richardson. The Southeast District Health Department is located in Auburn, NE and is responsible for assessing, maintaining, and improving the health and safety of the five county district.
The ideal candidate will have:
Comprehensive knowledge of the principles of public health, public administration strategic planning, supervision/human resource management, and business management.
Knowledge of trends in the delivery of public health services.
Knowledge of public health disease prevention involving individuals, families, and communities.
Knowledge of revenue resources available from Federal, State, and local sources and grant application and administration procedures.
Knowledge of budgeting principles to set and develop programmatic and organizational budgets.
Attention to detail and ability to effectively organize time and anticipate, plan, and successfully respond to changing circumstances.
Strong analytic skills
The ability to use data to inform decisions, monitor progress, and make decisions.
The ability to interact effectively and create strong relationships internally and externally.
Knowledge on performance management and continuous process improvement.
Familiarity with emergency management
This job requires a Bachelor’s degree in public health, nursing, science, or closely related field from an accredited university/college and 5 years of public health experience or a Master’s degree in public health, nursing, social work, business administration, or closely related field and one year of public health experience.
