We will continually evaluate, assess, and adapt our programs and policies to educate and empower all people in all stages of life to improve the quality of health in our community.
What is Public Health?
Public health works to protect the health and well-being of all people, young and old, rich and poor. Because of public health, you can safely drink the water, breathe the air and eat the food. Public health has worked to eliminate disease and immunize against the previously life threatening infectious diseases. Public health works for injury prevention through safer work-places, motor vehicle safety, child safety seat programs and reduction of drug and alcohol abuse.
Since 1900, the average life span of U.S. citizens has lengthened by 30 years; 25 years of the gain are directly attributable to advances in Public Health. *CDC (Center for Disease Control and Prevention)
